Custom Kitchens
in Seattle.
Original design. European workshop craft. Installed by our team across the Greater Seattle Area.
Seattle homes are anything but uniform. A Craftsman bungalow in Ballard, a mid-century on a quiet Mount Baker street, a glass-walled new build above Lake Union — each one has its own proportions, light, and history. A catalog kitchen can’t really meet any of them halfway.
Prosta Studio designs and builds kitchens from scratch for Seattle homeowners who want their kitchen to actually belong to the house — and to them. Every cabinet, profile, finish, and pull is drawn for the specific room it’s going into, then manufactured in our family-owned European workshop and installed by our local team.
Custom in the original sense of the word.
Designed for your home, not picked from a menu.
Most Seattle cabinet shops work from a fixed catalog of door styles, sizes, and finishes. We start from a blank page. Layout, cabinet proportions, finish color, edge profile, hardware — all drawn for your kitchen, then built to match.
30 years of European workshop craft.
Our cabinetry is built by a family-owned European workshop we’ve worked with for three decades. The tolerances are tighter, the veneers are thicker, and the finish passes are more numerous than what most US production lines produce. You see — and feel — the difference every time you open a drawer.
Italian hardware and hand-selected materials.
We specify Italian hinges and soft-close mechanisms rated for decades of daily use, and select every wood, stone, and metal in person. Nothing is substituted at the factory to save on cost.
One team from first sketch to final install.
The designer who draws your kitchen stays with the project through production and installation in Seattle. No handoff to a dealer, no loss of detail in translation.
Seattle and surrounding neighborhoods.
We design and install kitchens across every Seattle neighborhood — from historic Craftsman homes north of the Ship Canal to contemporary rebuilds on Capitol Hill and waterfront projects on Lake Washington.
Neighborhoods we regularly work in include Queen Anne, Magnolia, Ballard, Capitol Hill, Madison Park, Madrona, Leschi, West Seattle, Mount Baker, Laurelhurst, and Wedgwood.
Our studio and installation team are based in Seattle and operate across the entire Greater Seattle Area. If your project is anywhere from Seattle to the surrounding neighborhoods, we can be on-site quickly — during design, during install, and after.
Frequently asked.
- Do you work with Seattle’s range of home styles — Craftsman, Mid-Century, Modern?
- Yes. Because every kitchen is designed from scratch, we adapt to the house — not the other way around. Whether it’s a 1920s Craftsman in Queen Anne, a mid-century in Mount Baker, or a new modern build on the waterfront, the cabinetry is drawn to sit right in that specific room.
- What does a custom Prosta Studio kitchen cost in Seattle?
- Our projects start around $20,000 for a fully custom single-family-home kitchen — that price covers the cabinets and the pulls and knobs. Countertops, appliances, and installation are separate line items. Even at that starting point, we hold to the same standard as our larger projects and work only with the highest-quality materials. Your kitchen will not feel cheap.
- Where are the cabinets actually built?
- In our family-owned workshop in Poland, near the port of Gdańsk — a location we’ve worked with for over 30 years. Its proximity to the port ensures a streamlined delivery straight to the Greater Seattle Area.
- How long does a kitchen take from first meeting to install?
- Once we lock in the design, workshop production and shipping are roughly 10–14 weeks total. Installation in the home is usually 1–2 weeks. Compared to local manufacturers, we’re typically only 2–4 weeks longer thanks to our streamlined production and logistics.
- Do you handle installation, or just the cabinetry?
- We handle installation across the Greater Seattle Area with our own team. We don’t hand off to a subcontractor — the people who drew your kitchen are the ones who see it finished.
- Can I see a Prosta Studio kitchen near Seattle before I commit?
- We almost always have ongoing projects across the Greater Seattle Area — often in or near Seattle — and some are available to visit in person. We can also bring cabinet samples so you can see and feel the materials, finishes, and hardware up close.
